Getting Started

How do I get the latest version of the app?

Go to the Apple App Store (IOS) or Google Play (Android) and download the app.

How do I create & manage a FilterQueen account?

To create an account, open the Defender app. Select 'create an account'. Enter your information, create a password, and press 'create an account'. Then go to your email and verify your account. Then go back into the app and press 'i verified my account'.

How do I connect my device to the app?

Select 'device list'. Select the + button. Select 'air purifier'. Plug the Defender into an outlet. Press 'confirm'. Confirm the green light is blinking and ready for setup. Hold down the on/off button for 5 seconds until the light begins to blink. Then select 'got it' button. Once the device is connected, select the Wi-Fi network you want to use. Enter the WiFi password, then select 'connect'. Then give your device a meaningful name and select your current time zone, then select 'next'. Then select 'finish' to complete setup.

Repeat this step if you want to add multiple devices. Be sure to name your devices differently (ie. living room, bedroom, etc.)

How do I enable notifications in the app?

Go to Notification Settings. Then enable any or all notifications by selecting each one and check the box.


Do I have to use the app to control the Defender?

No. You can also manually control the Defender by pressing the screen on the device.

Can the app work on older models of the Defender?

No. The app is only compatible with the 2023 Defender model.

Do I have to be connected to WiFi to use the Defender app?

No. You can control the device on your smart phone without being connected to WiFi. Only the device itself has to be connected to WiFi.

How do I check the status of the filter?

Go to Usage. This screen will show a circle of color that determines the filter health. To add the filter serial number & date of installation, go to the hamburger icon and Enter Filter Details.

If you purchased a new device, the filter is already installed. To find/scan the filter bar code, use the following steps:

1. Turn off and unplug the device.
2. Tilt device to the side and unscrew bottom bolt.
3. Stand back upright and lift top and set to the side.
4. Lift filter out and identify the bar code.
5. Scan/type the bar code in the Edit Filter Details section.
6. Put device back together and turn back on to resume use.

If you purchased a new filter, enter the filter serial number by manually typing it or using the scan icon to scan the bar code on the filter.

How do I get auto-refill filter cartridges?

Select the device and go to Usage and click the 3 dots in the top right corner and then select Order Filter Options. This will take you to the FilterQueen filter page where you can order replacement filters.

Can multiple users use the app for the same device?

Yes, but only one user initially sets up and connects to the Defender. This user will then be able to share the device with other users.

How do I share my device with another user?

To share your device with another user, use the following steps:

1. Go to Device Shares.
2. Select the 'Share To' button and select the + button in the top right corner.
3. Type in the user's email address associated with their app login.
4. Select the device you want to share and then select Save. The person you shared with will now have access to the device.


I'm not able to log into my account. How do I reset my password?

On the home screen, go to Forgot Password, enter your email address, then Send Verification Code. Open your email and find the verification code. Go back into the app and type the verification code. Create a new password. Then sign into the app with the new password.


I'm unable to connect the Defender to the app. What do I do?
